And I can’t stand the hubris
Elon Musk is a troll, and I can’t stand this level of “in your face” hubris. I’m not a religious guy but I do believe that “pride does go before a fall.” Why do I believe in that? Because I’ve lived it a few times.
Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively. Elon and Zach will also maintain their respective positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. (via TSLA 8-k)
Why am I bent up over something as silly as calling yourself Technoking or Master of Coin? I really don’t care what you call yourself, but there’s a hidden sinister message there. It’s a flagrant ‘F U’ to the markets and shareholders, under the guise of ‘sticking it to the man.’
Do people realize that they’ve lost their marbles?
Right now everything is riding high for him. Space X is doing some cool stuff, Tesla’s share price is at ridiculous highs, and everything Musk touches seems to turn to gold. The funny thing, I don’t buy this Technoking crap one bit, it’s just Musk managing his company’s narrative for his personal ego. If you believe that his shit doesn’t stink then I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
He’s invested a portion of the company’s assets into Bitcoin. What a great way to blow up (manipulate) his company’s share price. When Bitcoin goes up, so does the valuation of his company. Do people realize that they’ve lost their marbles?
He’s poking his fingers in shareholder’s eyes, going ‘na na na na na’ and you say, ‘Yes Sir! May I have some more?” There’s going to be people that will buy TSLA for the first time at these insane valuations and then get left holding the bag when it all collapses. Believe, it will collapse but I just don’t know when.
Who gets hurt when it collapses? Mutual funds, pension funds, shareholders, individual investors, your Mom or Dad, teachers, and many more. There’s a lot of money tied up in the markets, not just for Wall Street but for regular people too.
The sad part? People look up to this troll. They want to be like him, but as Jessica Wildfire wrote, our heroes reveal our values
Millions of men look up to Elon Musk because his obscene wealth allows him to do and say whatever he wants, without consequence. He can send the price of stock and assets like bitcoin soaring with a single tweet. (via Jessica Wildfire)
What’s the value he reveals? A smart guy who wants to show that he’s just like you, wants to take on the big Wall Street machine for the little guy, all the while acting like a big baby because he didn’t get his way.
And right now? He’s definitely on the side of r/WallStreetBets apes. They idolize him because his stock has made a lot of them rich, something they’d never ever be in their lifetimes on their own, so they feel they owe him.
But loyalty and sentiment’s a funny thing. The Wall Street Rebellion continues and one day people will realize he’s not like them at all. He’s just like the rest of leeches on Wall Street, plunging the knife in your back with a smile on his face.
