Sketchup Pro

This weekend I experimented with the SketchupPro, a 3D design tool that let’s you do all kinds of neat things. I was able to create a contour map from Google Map data easily.

Next I experimented with building (quite badly) a container gardening box for the wife.

Not to bad and it only takes a day to get productive, IF you’ve used CAD before. The commerical version ($695) of the software allows you to generate layout sheets, import and export DWGs, and make it more business” like, but the free version allows you to do all the model building and save it as a skp” file.
